How Orbisa collects and uses your data.
What we collect
Orbisa collects minimal data. When you visit, we log standard server data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance. We use PostHog analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns, but only if you explicitly accept cookies.
If you contact us via the contact form, we store your name, email address, and message so we can reply. If you make a donation, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. Orbisa does not store card numbers or banking details.
How we use it
We use data solely to operate and improve Orbisa. We never sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for profiling. Analytics data is aggregate only.
Cookies
Orbisa uses one functional cookie to remember your dark/light mode preference. Analytics cookies (PostHog) are only set after you click Accept in the cookie banner. You can decline and the app works fully without them.
Third-party services
The following third parties may process data when you use Orbisa: Vercel (hosting), PostHog (analytics, opt-in only), Stripe (donation payments), Mapbox (map rendering), OpenCage (geocoding), and Anthropic Claude (AI classification). Each operates under its own privacy policy.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Email orbisa.social@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. Orbisa is operated from Slovenia and complies with GDPR.

What Orbisa is
Orbisa is a free web app that collects publicly available news, filters it for positive global events, and displays it on a map and feed. We use AI to classify, summarise, and locate stories. We are not a news publisher; we surface and link to original sources.
Using the app
Orbisa is free to use. No account required. You may use it for personal, educational, or non-commercial purposes. Automated scraping or bulk downloading without written permission is not permitted.
Content and accuracy
Stories are sourced from third-party RSS feeds and summarised by AI. We cannot guarantee accuracy or timeliness. Always read the original source. AI summaries may contain errors; if you spot one, let us know via the contact form.
Intellectual property
News articles linked from Orbisa remain the property of their original publishers. Orbisa stores only short AI-generated summaries and metadata, not full article text. The Orbisa name, logo, and design are our property. Copyright concerns? Email orbisa.social@gmail.com.
Donations
Donations are voluntary and non-refundable unless required by law. They support running costs and do not grant special rights or ownership. Payments are processed by Stripe.
Disclaimers and liability
Orbisa is provided as-is without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. These terms are governed by the laws of Slovenia.
